The University of Michigan student group FEMMES (Females Excelling More in Math, Engineering and Science) will bring a variety of hands-on, engaging activities for young students interested in learning more about STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) topics.
Common household items will be used to demonstrate experiments such as making licorice DNA, sorting rocks, and playing hospital simulation games to learn about biology, geology, industrial engineering, and much more.
This event is cosponsored by FEMMES, a group of undergraduate and graduate students who are studying various areas in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics and who want to encourage younger girls who might be interested in one day doing the same.
